Chinese Child Severely Brain Damaged After Being Beaten By Teacher-Huffington Post

In a Chinese preschool in Guangzhou a preschool teacher beat a 4 year old little girl. There is footage of the teacher tossing the little girl to the ground and repeatedly kicks her. She then picks her up from the floor and drops her again. The little girl was knocked unconscious and later taken to the hospital. It’s a miracle that the little girl is still alive considering the brain damage she was left with. After two operations she can’t walk or talk. The teacher denies any wrongdoing but is being prosecuted.

I can’t believe how people could be so cruel to anyone let alone a little girl. I saw the video and it disgusts me. I seriously teared up. The little girl couldn’t even defend herself; she looked lifeless after the first time she was pushed. What amazes me is that there were other people walking around too and they didn’t do anything about it. There is even a little boy playing with a ball that stopped and just starred at all that was happening. I just don’t get it.

Student nurse allegedly kills patient; put coffee in IV by mistake-MSN

Rejane Moreira Telles, a nursing student in Brazil, is facing charges of involuntary manslaughter for injecting an 80 year old patient with coffee by mistake on an IV drip. The patient died hours after the incident. The student said she only had several days of experience while working in the Rio de Janeiro hospital when she hooked up a drip that contained coffee and milk. She defended herself on Brazilian TV by saying, "anyone can get confused." Doctors contacted by the TV station said the coffee would have made the patient feel as if they were suffocating.

How do you confuse IV with coffee, it’s a totally different color. I am nowhere near of being a doctor and I know what IV is not supposed to look like. I am glad I don’t live anywhere near this hospital. I feel bad for the patient. It must have felt horrible to die that way.

Police say Louisiana woman set herself ablaze-MSN

A spokesman for Louisiana's Franklin Parish sheriff's office said Sharmeka Moffitt made up a story about being set on fire. Spokesman Kevin Cobb told reporters this afternoon that it looks like the 20-year-old woman set herself on fire on Sunday night. She is still in critical condition at a hospital in Shreveport, La. Police uncovered evidence that indicate Moffitt wrote "KKK" and a racial slur on her car. She had said she was attacked by three men wearing white hoodies.

I think this woman is crazy. She probably wanted to prove some kind of point but to almost kill yourself is going way too far.

Skydiver breaks sound barrier-NBC News

On Oct. 14, 2012, Felix Baumgartner jumped from 128,000 ft. over Roswell, NM. Felix’s is Austrian who has been training for about 7 years. He was helped by Joe Kittinger who held the 19-mile high jump, before Felix’s jump. It took a little over 4 min to land safely to solid ground.

I wish I was brave enough to do this. I don’t know I would ever have the willpower to jump off from anyplace that is that high. I am not afraid of heights and even that is too high for me.

Giant Mysterious Eyeball Found on Florida Beach-National Geographic

A giant eyeball washed up on a beach in Florida and many are wondering what kind of sea life it came from. It was found by a beachcomber on Wednesday in Florida’s Pompano Beach. When found it was handed to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The eye was later sent to the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute in St. Petersburg, Fl. There, genetic testing will be done to figure out who the eye belonged to. What they think it came from now is a large fish like a swordfish, tuna or deep-water fish. There is some weigh in from marine biologists who don’t think it’s a fish eye because fish have the eyes imbedded in hard tissue. Squid eyes are also a though because they have soft tissue but because there seems to be some bone around the eye, they are ruled out.

This is so cool. If I were to have found the eye I don’t know if I would have given to them. I kind of would want to keep it. My conscience would get to me and I would end up giving it to them but not right away. I so want to know where it came from.

Sun Sentinel-Man dies after bug-eating contest in Deerfield Beach

A 32 year old man in west palm beach died after winning a bug eating contest. The prize was a python from a Ben Siegel Reptile Store. Once the contest was over the man claimed he wasn’t feeling so well and collapsed outside the store and later died. The store owner stated that the bugs are captive bred bugs where they are bred in sterile conditions.

It would suck to win a contest and then die. It didn’t seem like an easy contest fi you had to eat bugs, gross. All that hard work and then dying. He was not having a very good day.

MSN living-Boy: 'Grown-Ups Killed my Kitty'

A little boy in Utah wrote a letter to his local newspaper about how his cat was put to sleep. The boy had lost his cat and had been looking for it for two days. None of the neighbors had seen the cat, or so they said. The little boy’s father went to the animal shelter where he found him. They were closing up so he was instructed to come back the next day to pay the fee and he would get his cat back. The next day when the father went to the shelter he was told that the employee had forgotten to put a note saying the cat was claimed. The cat was then put down. The little boy later went to the shelter where he was given an apology and he forgave them.

I almost teared up while reading this story, it’s so sad. I would not be as understanding as he was. If it were my pet I don’t know what I would do. The shelter offered him a new cat, but he didn’t take it. How do they expect that a new cat would make everything better? It wasn’t just a cat; it was the little boy’s friend. Shelters should be more aware and attentive of things.

Huffington Post-David Siegel Email to Workers Threatens Layoffs If Obama Is Reelected

David Siegel, CEO and founder of Westgate resorts, sent an email to his coworkers saying why Romney should be elected. He went on to say that if the president was reelected it will “threaten your job” and that he “will have no choice but to reduce the size of this company.” The reason for any downsizing was the new taxes that the company would have to pay.

This is ridiculous. No one should have to follow the opinions of somebody else. No one should have to be forced to do something they don’t want to do. Personally, I would quit if my employer threaten me to vote for a certain person. It’s not that I like one candidate over the other it’s the mere fact that I am being forced to vote for one or I will lose my job. Some workers may not have the choice of quitting, which is wrong.

National Geographic-Slime Has Memory but No Brain

After some experimenting with a slim mold, scientists have discovered that it may be able to memorize where it has been. The slime leaves a trail of residue wherever it goes. This trail lets it know where it has been. The way it was tested was by placing the slime in a trap where it was supposed to find a sugar solution. It was able to find it in 120 hours. When the slime was put in the same trap but that was already coated with slime, it had a more difficult time finding the sugar solution. It could not trace where it had been. The slime does not have a brain and scientist say it uses externalized spatial memory.

It is weird to know that something that has no brain can memorize things. We tend to think of memorizing as using your brain and this slime can do the same without it. It makes me think of what other things things without a brain can do.
